My name is Lauren Musser and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Ventura County, California working with clients via Telehealth. I received my Bachelor's degree from Channel Island University in Psychology and completed my Master's degree from Pepperdine University. I am passionate about the work I do with clients and honor the uniqueness of each individual while drawing on my professional training to create an experience tailored to your specific needs in therapy. Working collaboratively, we will engage in meaningful exploration of the issues impacting your well-being in order to achieve the change you want.

I see my role as empowering you with new insight and skills so that you can live well and be resilient in responding to the challenges of life. My style is non-judgmental, compassionate, and warm, while integrating principles of self-compassion, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I hope to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself by collaboratively exploring your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as they relate to the relationship to yourself, others and the world.

I specialize in working with adolescents and individuals. I have extensive experience working with trauma and grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem/ self-image and relationship concerns. I am an active listener who listens without judgement and creates a safe space for you to share your experiences. My communication style is calm, supportive and empathic.

I love what I do! Being a therapist is more than a job, it reflects a core part of me that enjoys getting to know people. Growing up my friends and family always came to me when they needed someone to listen to their concerns or help them find solutions to their problems. As a Therapist, I guide clients through personal challenges, help ease emotional burdens, and empower my clients to achieve a healthier mind. My goal in treatment is to establish a safe space where you feel heard, seen, and hopeful. My approach to goal setting with clients is working collaboratively together to define what you want to accomplish out of treatment and setting achievable goals.
