Hello, my name is Lindsay Nakamura. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have over eleven years of experience working as a therapist in a community based mental health setting. I received my Master’s Degree from Pepperdine University’s Clinical Psychology program in 2014.

Throughout my work as a therapist, I have gained experience working with a wide range of individuals which includes clients presenting with depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, relationship and intimacy issues, low self-esteem, anger management, and various life transitions. A lot of my experience has been working with survivors of sexual violence and intimate partner violence, helping clients through their journey to healing and processing the traumatic events.

My style of therapy is a client centered and collaborative approach that emphasizes self-compassion and understanding in order to build a strong therapeutic alliance. My approach is to be a support to my client in a nonjudging, empathetic way and I work to empower my clients and help them reach their full potential.
